We are gods (revised)
On infinity.
There are two types of infinity.
- The infinity that ranges from -infinity to +infinity
- The infinity that lies between two elements of an type-1 infinite set (e.g. the infinite count of numbers between two real numbers)
So a part of infinity always is infinite itself. Our universe is infinite and we are a part of it. We are infinite.
However we are of type-2 infinity, so we cannot find our sense in the infinity of time, but instead in the infinity of the now. Meditation, the art of not-doing (doing happens in time, defines time), is the path that leads to that truth.
You can call it infinity, you can call it the divine. You can approach it via math / logic, you can approach it via religion. Both are just two paths leading to the same truth. The truths of science and religion are the same!
Zen is for those intelligent enough to understand the limitations of the intellect and ready to recognize the significance of intuition in the world of mysticism. (Osho)
On correlation.
Why do we think that with the end of our skin, we end? What leads us to that assumption, aside from western common knowledge (which from time to time proves wrong)?
The explicitly controllable, movable part of us ends there, that we know for sure.
But who says that when after the last molecule that is part of the outer skin layer the first oxygen molecule begins, there we stop? If there is no prove that we stop there then we can as well assume that we do not stop there.
Imagine what this can mean also for your everyday life. Assume just for a moment that you virtually are everything, there is just that one body through whose mind you interrelate with the world. The trees you see, that is you. The people you see, that is you. Your body of cause, that is you.
Now you cannot harm anyone and anything. You cannot act out your hate on anybody or anything, because that harms you. No one can laugh at you…you are only laughing at yourself, one of the healthiest laughs that exist. You cannot reduce a woman to a sex object just as you cannot reduce a man to a cash giver. You cannot value people different by their age, job, ethnicity, by any value.
Give it a try, I do whenever I remember. It is hard at first but the fruits are sweet.
