“Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has signed a bill that officially classifies beer as alcoholic.
Until now anything containing less than 10% alcohol in Russia has been considered a foodstuff.”—BBC News - Russia classifies beer as alcoholic
“Fain would I take with me all that is here. But how shall I?
A voice cannot carry the tongue and the lips that gave it wings. Alone must it seek the ether.
And alone and without the nest shall the eagle fly across the sun.”—Kahlil Gibran - The Prophet (ed. 1996 p. 2)
“GoDaddy performs tracking so their site will report to you that their $13.99 certs cost $49.99. I was able to verify this by switching browsers to one that didn’t have their cookie and looking at the same page.”—rentzsch.tumblr.com: GoDaddy SSL Cert Scam
“JekyllAndHyde is a HTML presentation generator that combines the simplicity of website generation via Jekyll with jQuery’s Slippy presentation library. Together they create a super-simple, GitHub Pages-compatible slideshow platform in Ruby.”—jingweno/jekyll_and_hyde - GitHub
Skeleton is a small collection of CSS & JS files that can help you rapidly develop sites that look beautiful at any size, be it a 17” laptop screen or an iPhone. Skeleton is built on three core principles:
“Become more and more alive, authentic, responsive. Even if there is a possibility to go astray, go astray, because there is no way to grow if you are so afraid of committing errors. Errors are good. Mistakes have to be committed. Never commit the same mistake again, but never be afraid of committing mistakes. People who become so afraid of committing mistakes never grow. They go on sitting in their place, afraid to move. They are not alive.”—Your Questions on Health
A part of infinity must always be infinite itself (see for example the infinite count of numbers between two real numbers). Our universe is infinite and we are a part of it. You, and me, are infinite. And because our time sense is only a limited space sense (see p.d. ouspensky’s tertium organum) we are also infinite in time. You and me, we are immortal. We are gods.
Why do we think that with the end of our skin, we end? Only the explicitly controllable, movable part of us ends, but who says that when after the last skin-molecule (whatever) the first oxygen-molecule begins, there we stop? If there is no prove that we stop there then we can as well assume that we don’t stop there.
Sidestep is an open-source application for Mac OS X that sits quietly in the background, protecting your security and privacy as you browse the web. When Sidestep detects you connecting to an unprotected wireless network, it automatically encrypts all of your Internet traffic and reroutes it through a secure connection to a server of your choosing, which acts as your Internet proxy. And it does all this in the background so that you don’t even notice it.
My advice? Install Sidestep now.
Because it sets OS X’s system-wide SOCKS proxy, all your browsers, and pretty much every application that uses a network connection will benefit (as opposed to, eg., doing ssh -ND 9999 email@example.com and using a proxy switching extension in your favourite browser).
